Sciatica
Sciatica is not a diagnosis so much as a description, pain that follows the sciatic nerve from the low back into the buttock and down the leg. The job of care is to find what is irritating the nerve and take the pressure off.
What it can feel like
- A line of pain that runs from the low back into one leg
- Tingling, burning, or numbness below the knee
- Pain that spikes when you sit, cough, or sneeze
- A leg that feels weak or heavy
How chiropractic care helps
We start by working out where the nerve is being irritated, then use adjustments and soft-tissue work to reduce that pressure and restore motion in the low back and hips.
Specific stretches and nerve-gliding movements often bring meaningful relief, and we are clear about the signs that call for imaging or a referral rather than continued hands-on care.
Techniques we often use for this
- Drop-table
- Soft-tissue therapy
- Diversified
We choose the gentlest method that works for your body. Read more about each on the How Care Works page.
